Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim called on Johor residents to select leaders committed to integrity and wisdom while avoiding arrogance in wielding power, emphasising this choice will safeguard the interests of ordinary people and disadvantaged communities.

Speaking at a Pakatan Harapan grand rally in Muar on June 15, Anwar cautioned against political factions that capitalise on divisive sentiments to win support but neglect their obligations once in office. He urged voters to think carefully about the consequences of their choices for the nation, future generations, education, and healthcare.

Anwar stressed that elected representatives must resist the temptation to become arrogant following victory and instead concentrate on addressing public grievances. Alignment between state and federal governments, he argued, is essential for smooth distribution of aid and economic gains from major infrastructure projects to benefit ordinary citizens.

Highlighting Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and the expansion of Tanjung Pelepas Port as examples of federal initiatives, Anwar said state governments should prioritise caring for grassroots communities. While acknowledging Johor's involvement, he emphasised that federal execution enabled these projects to advance.

Ahead of the July 11 state election, Anwar appealed to all eligible Johor voters, including those living elsewhere, to return and participate in the electoral process. He stressed that every vote matters in driving policy reform and ensuring economic benefits reach all segments of society.
