Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Sarawak's Deputy Premier and chairman of the State Disaster Management Committee, outlined the state's approach during remarks made following a handicraft competition awards ceremony in Kuching. He emphasised that Malaysia's representative in the ASEAN committee—the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability—would actively present Sarawak's concerns and proposals to regional partners, ensuring that the state's particular vulnerabilities receive attention in broader deliberations.
